From: ntwrklarrySome viruses and/or malware is disabling the Processes tab or Task Manager altogether so you can't kill an offending process and then delete the offending executable file. A cleanup of a registry key will get Task Manager back to normal.
Go to HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Windows NT\CurrentVersion\TaskManager ...and delete any keys to the right such as:
UsrColumnSettings or Preferences |
